How to take care of Your Aliens

Alien DNA Basics
Alien DNA need 12 hours of light, and 12 hours of dark a day.
They need to be fed 1 or 2 times a month.
They need human companionship to thrive.
Your body heat will damage your Aliens, try not to touch them.
Never put them in Direct Sun Light. UV rays quickly damage them.
Never shine a UV/Blacklight at them.
Never use light that can heat up your Aliens.
Never Add water or any other liquid to Your Alien culture.
When feeding Alien DNA be sure to do it in a clean environment
where the air is not blowing. Dirty Air can contaminate your alien culture.
Alien DNA Glow the brightest after 4 hours of being in the dark.
We Highly suggest feeding your aliens "Alien Blue" along with their regular food. Alien Blue is used to recolonize your aliens. However, mature colonies may not need it.
If you follow the steps above, your Aliens can live for many years.

Never use Spiral Light Bulbs
These Quickly Suck the Glow Out of Our little Aliens
Alien DNA Orbs & Bottles
They can live from 3 to 6 weeks without food.
If given food a couple times a month and 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark a day, they can live for years.
Add 1.5% Alien food to the total volume of seawater in orb/bottle 2 times a month. or add 4% monthly.
One Alien food bottle should feed them for 6 months to a year. Alien food does not glow and should be stored in a dark, dry place.
Never Fill the bottle to the top. Aliens create Air and need as much open surface as possible to sunbath in the day. It is best to fill them half way.
We Highly recommend using our 24 hour LED's with the timer set to 12/12
Please Note: You will need 2 bottles. Once you start feeding them on a regular basis, you will also need to clean the bottles a couple times a year.

Alien DNA Tiles and Mini Stargates
These can last for up to 4 months in the pressure sealed bags. They don't need to be fed. Just give them their 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark a day using one of our automatic LED timer lights and all good. They should be safely removed from the bag before they run out of food.
They can Live for Years if Property taken care of.
Feed them Alien Food around 2.0% of the total volume on tiles and mini stargates every 10 days or so. Best to give them a little Alien Blue once a month as well.
We Highly recommend using our 24 hour LED's with the timer set to 12/12

Alien DNA Stargates and Star Carpets.
Generally they will last for 2 to 3 months without food in the pressurized sealed marine bags. They will need to be fed regularly once they are removed from the sealed pressurized lab bag.
They will need Alien Blue as well as their Alien food.
We recommend placing them in one of our bio cubes for a couple months while they are feeding and breeding.
For Exact Instructions, please contact us as each one is custom made.
They All come with automatic timed LED lighting. 12/12 Hours a day.

Lighting is Important.
Maintaining Your Alien DNA's Magic Glow
The dimming of your bioluminescent dinoflagellates may be due to the use of fluorescent lighting. Bioluminescent organisms are sensitive to light conditions and typically thrive under lower-intensity, spectrum-specific light sources. Fluorescent lights can be too intense and may not provide the optimal spectrum for these organisms, leading to reduced luminescence.
Key Considerations:
Spectrum Sensitivity: Bioluminescent organisms often require specific light spectra to maintain their glow. Fluorescent lights may not provide the necessary spectrum, which can affect their luminescence.
Light Intensity: The high intensity of fluorescent lights can cause stress to bioluminescent organisms, further diminishing their glow.
Blue Light Warning: Be cautious of blue light, as it can be particularly harmful to bioluminescent organisms. Prolonged exposure to blue light can disrupt their bioluminescent processes and lead to decreased light emission.
Recommendations:
Switch to LED Lights: Use LED lights with adjustable spectrums and intensities. LEDs can be tailored to provide the ideal conditions for your bioluminescent dinoflagellates.
Optimal LED Lights: For best results, consider LED lights
with the following specifications:
Spectrum: Use LEDs with a spectrum that includes wavelengths between 450-500 nm (blue to green light), as these are often optimal for bioluminescent organisms.
Intensity: Adjust the intensity to a low to moderate level, typically around 10-50 µmol/m²/s, to avoid overwhelming the organisms.
Check Other Factors: Ensure that temperature, nutrients, and pH levels are within the optimal range for your bioluminescent dinoflagellates, as these factors can also affect their luminescence.
If Salinity is to high, you can add purified drinking water to reduce it. If to low, you can add purified salt water to increase it.
They also need their food. Alien Blue increases their population which will also make them glow more.
